I’ve had some exciting moments in my photography journey, but nothing could prepare me for this. When I saw the package from Canadian Geographic had arrived, well, I knew it was likely their calendar. I knew that a couple of my images had made the cut, so I knew what was inside—though I had no idea just how big it truly was. With a mix of anticipation and childlike excitement, I tore it open, and what I found inside left me absolutely floored.

Not only had two of my moose images been selected for the 2025 "Canadian Geographic Moose Calendar", but one of them—one of MY moose shots—had made the COVER! I had to look at it twice just to let it sink in. The cover image. I couldn’t believe it! My moose, right there on the front, representing the entire calendar... THE Canadian Geographic 2025 Moose Calendar!!!!!

It felt like time froze for a second. I just sat there, staring at it, grinning like a kid on Christmas morning. There’s something surreal about seeing your work presented that way—like all those long hours spent waiting in the cold, chasing light and wildlife, really paid off. But what came next was just as exciting. As I flipped through the other calendar, I found that one of my iceberg images had also been selected for the "Polar Expedition 2025 Canadian Geographic Calendar". Seriously, could it get any better?

In that moment, I had so many emotions—joy, pride, gratitude, and this deep sense of humility. I thought about the places I’d traveled to capture these shots, the patience it took, and how incredibly lucky I am to have opportunities like these. To be honest, it felt like a dream, and I just stood there, grinning and probably looking ridiculous, but I didn’t care. Tara couldn't stop laughing at just how excited I truly was!

I couldn’t help but reflect on how far I’ve come as a photographer and how these little victories mean so much, not just for the recognition, but for the journey they represent. It’s not about the awards or the covers (although those are amazing); it’s about doing what I love and having moments like these where it all comes together.

I’m beyond grateful to Canadian Geographic for the opportunity, and to everyone who has supported me along the way—this moment of glee and pride is something I’ll never forget!

Although I sell my own 2025 Nature and 2025 Newfoundland Calendars, in the event that you want your very own copy of this... well, look no further than THE Calendar Club!

LOL, YES, it is a recommended 'best seller' on the Calendar Club!
