With that comes some incredible things ahead, including the launch of the "Algonquin Reset Workshop" the upcoming "Polar Expedition 2027", and the growth of "The Viewfinder Sessions podcast", now with 4 episodes live. But it also means this is real. This is what supports my family and fuels everything I’m building. If you’ve ever connected with my work, now is the time your support truly matters. As the holiday season rolls in, you’ll often find me unable to sit still, rocking in some sort of moving chair, staring at the lights on the Christmas tree, a book nearby, a one-finger pour of bourbon or scotch within reach, reflecting on everything this year has held. I think about my wife. Our two incredible kids. Our dog. A warm home. Food in the pantry. And I’m reminded, especially after surviving a horrific collision with a fully loaded gravel truck in the Northwest Territories, that none of this is guaranteed. Quite frankly, we shouldn’t be here. But we are. So this Christmas season, I encourage you to pause. Remember the good and the bad. Look back not just at what you achieved, but at what you survived. There’s something powerful in realizing how far you’ve come, even when the road ahead still feels long. For me, I’m alive. My family is alive. And the future, while uncertain, feels bright. Thank you for being part of this journey.‍

For me, this is not just another trip. It is the result of years of chasing a dream that once felt impossible. It is proof that the long nights of planning, the risks, the learning, the failures and the leaps of faith have all been worth it. I hope that when this expedition is over, each person walks away with more than just beautiful photographs. I hope they carry with them moments of awe, stories that they will tell for years to come, and the spark to inspire others to step outside of comfort and live their own adventures. It is an honour and a privilege to guide them on this path. And it is a reminder to myself that this is exactly where I am meant to be.

2024: A Year of Growth and Resilience Behind the Lens 2024 was a transformative year for me as a photographer and storyteller. From earning honorable mentions with Canadian Geographic and the International Photographer’s Awards to publishing work in outlets like Digital Photo Magazine, Canadian Geographic, and CBC, it was a year of professional milestones. Highlights included an Arctic expedition with the Churchill Northern Studies Centre, where I encountered over 100 polar bears, and selling out Canada’s largest photography club—a historic first for them. However, the year wasn’t without challenges, including a medical leave from my 14-year career and a major basement flood. Despite these hurdles, photography remained my lifeline, helping me navigate mental health struggles and inspiring my advocacy for conservation and mental health awareness. Looking ahead to 2025, I’m excited to launch my speaking and gallery tours, Arctic Frontiers: Life at the Edge of a Changing World, expand mental health photography projects, and start guiding photography adventures. Photography continues to be my platform for connection, healing, and change, and I can’t wait to see where the journey leads next.

When I saw the package from Canadian Geographic had arrived, well, I knew it was likely their calendar. I knew that a couple of my images had made the cut, so I knew what was inside—though I had no idea just how big it truly was. With a mix of anticipation and childlike excitement, I tore it open, and what I found inside left me absolutely floored.

Quick Summary I am honored to announce my selection as one of the top 100 photographers by the Audubon Society, marking the start of an exciting expedition. All travel arrangements are booked, supported by 14 sponsors and numerous non-profits. I've completed an interview with Blake Ellis from The Petrolia Lambton Independent Newspaper and am collaborating with Faith and Dylan from the Churchill Northern Studies Centre on the itinerary. My main camera gear is being prepared for the journey, and thanks to Mark Campbell's generosity, I can continue working with borrowed equipment. Research from CNSC and the book "Night Spirits: The Story of the Relocation of the Sayisi Dene" has been insightful. The 2025 Nature and Newfoundland Calendars are nearly ready, with proceeds supporting various non-profits. I'm also busy with submissions to major photography contests.
