Hey everyone,
It feels like a whirlwind since my last blog post on March 10th! So much has happened, and I can't wait to share it all with you.
From the incredible sold-out show at the London Camera Club - the largest camera club in North America (yes, you read that right!) to participating in a couple of vendor shows, booking and paying for two legs of my Arctic Expedition, and taking a recent medical leave from my day job - it's been a rollercoaster of emotions.
But through it all, I've been learning to prioritize self-care and taking things one day at a time. And let me tell you, the journey has been nothing short of amazing.
The show in London was a blast! We had a fantastic turnout, with people joining us from Australia, across Canada, and beyond. The feedback has been heartwarming, and it's fueled my excitement for more speaking engagements in the future.
Speaking of which, after many years away from large crowds, I'm diving back into public speaking. It's like riding a bike; once I get the hang of it again and refine my presentations, it's only going to get better from here.
I've also been busy with vendor shows, making some incredible connections, breaking even on costs, and putting in the hard work that's always worth it in the end.
And guess what? My Arctic Expedition dates are locked in! From October 26th to November 12th, I'll be embarking on an unforgettable adventure. Partnering with the Churchill Northern Science Centre, I'll be capturing images, giving lectures, and hopefully participating in some scientific research.
It's surreal to think about how far I've come. Despite the challenges - battling anxiety, depression, and past traumas - I'm living my dream. #ChasingADream isn't just a hashtag anymore; it's my reality.
And the good news keeps coming! I'm in the final round of judging for the top 100 images for the Audubon Society - a dream come true in itself. Win or lose, being part of the conversation is an honor.
Recently, I've also started one-on-one sessions with aspiring photographers, and it's been a blast! It's not just about teaching; it's about sharing my passion and growing together.
Plus, I've launched pre-orders for my 2025 calendars, with a portion of sales going to some incredible organizations. And for the month of May, there's a special discount to give back even more.
Meetings with local schools, libraries, and more are in the works, along with seeking sponsors for my expedition and booking speaking engagements.
And let's not forget about the recent April 8th Solar Eclipse - absolutely breathtaking!
With so much happening, I rely on your support. Liking, sharing, commenting - it all helps me grow this dream. So please, stay engaged, and let's keep this journey going.
Until next time, happy clicking!
Warm Regards,
Shaun
